This sacred sculpture in gilded wood, standing 56 cm tall, represents a Saint β perhaps Saint Lucy or a Doctor Saint β dressed in a flowing golden robe, with a sweet and profoundly human expression. Her serene face, almost childlike, and her gaze that seems to transcend time, carry a spirituality that moves those who behold her.
The rich gilding, gently worn by time, highlights the folds of her garment and the grace of her gestures. One hand is extended, as if in welcome, while the other holds a small symbolic attribute β perhaps a palm, a book, or a martyrβs instrument, not yet clearly identified, but deeply meaningful.
With its original craquelure polychromy, delicate carving, and intimate character, this piece is a jewel of Iberian Baroque, likely from the 18th century. A rare sculpture, full of soul and history, that brings a sacred aura to any space.
One of those works that arenβt bought just with the eyesβ¦ but also with the heart.
