There are paintings that donβt simply depict a body β they build it. In SERENITAS, the reclining figure is born from a game of faceted planes, as if skin were made of prisms and light entered from within. Ambers, ochres and honey tones ignite the flesh with an almost mineral energy, while the greens and blacks in the background create silence, depth, and a delicious tension between desire and restraint.
I paint figuration through geometry: each triangle is a gesture, each shadow a pause. The face tilts into an intimate stillness, and the body β fragmented β reassembles itself in the viewerβs gaze. Thereβs a dialogue here with the legacy of Cubism, but in my own voice: warmer, more sensual, more human.
BATALHA β acrylic on canvas, 80 x 60 cm.
