ALIEN BY L. CESARO FOR TRECILUCE — SPACE AGE DESIGN WITH ATTITUDE

Some design pieces seem to come straight from another era — or perhaps from another planet. This “Alien” table lamp, designed by L. Cesaro for Treciluce, has exactly that presence: futuristic, sculptural and instantly recognisable. What attracts me most is the purity of its form. The tapered base rises in an almost organic way towards the white diffuser, creating a continuous, elegant silhouette closely associated with the Space Age language of the 1960s and 1970s. There is something wonderfully futuristic, almost cinematic, in the combination of rounded volumes and clean lines. The diffused light enhances that character even further. Once illuminated, the lamp becomes more than a functional object — it turns into a small luminous sculpture, soft in atmosphere yet strong in presence. I especially love the contrast between this boldly modern design and an interior filled with antiques, old woods and classical paintings.
